The second season begins strongly through a new comedy, as Nola cleans the house and returns to therapy. On the other hand, Shimka returns to the hotel where she got a range of injections and treatments. Meanwhile, in Martha's Vineyard, Nola gets a chance to learn again by artists such as Carrie Mae Weems and Amy Sherald, but there's a new surprise.

May 28, 2019 She's Gotta Have It is unusual in that it's...fine. It's just fine. It plays less like a show and more like an homage to Spike Lee himself, where he opens up his artist's notebook and shows us all of his influences.

June 03, 2019 This season was so distinctly a "Spike Lee joint" that fans of the filmmaker might be able to overlook the underdeveloped characters and stylistic tropes.

May 28, 2019 There's too much life, color, beauty and music in "She's Gotta Have It" for any solo annoyance to completely detract from the pleasure it gives, and it's still worth your time, if not necessarily by way of a speedy consumption.
